Hi, I'm Joseph Meldrum.

I'm a proud queer Ghungalu/German writer, director and producer from the Northern Territory.

My career in the film and TV industry has taken me between Australia and North America since 2016 where I have worked as a Commissioning Editor at NITV/SBS, a Development and Investment Manager at Screen Australia and Screen Queensland and working across many roles such as producer, camera operator and lighting technician on productions for the likes of Netflix, HBO, Lionsgate, Discovery Channel, Paramount Plus and many more. ​

In 2024 I was named as one of the Screen Producer Australia's Ones To Watch and I have commissioned titles such as Saltwater Cowboys of Shark Bay (NITV, In Production), Search For The Snowy (SBS/NITV, In Production), Drafted (2026, In Production), Our Medicine Season 2 (2026, SBS/NITV) and many more. As well as scripted series Reckless (2026, SBS/NITV), children's animation series Proudfoot and Friends (NITV, In Production) and award winning feature documentaries such as Journey Home, David Gulpilil (2026, SBS/NITV/Madman Entertainment), and Emily: I Am Kam (2025, NITV).  

 

During my time as a production executive I oversaw production for titles such as Thou Shalt Not Steal (Stan, 2024), The New Boy (Netflix, 2023), Black Snow Season 1 (Stan, 2023), Limbo (Sony, 2023), The Dark Emu Story (The ABC, 2023), First Weapons (The ABC, 2023) and many more. 

 

As production crew I have worked on many major Hollywood productions shooting in Canada like Peacemaker Season 1 (HBO, 2022), ​Midnight Mass Season 1 (Netflix, 2021), Gold Rush Season 11 and 12 (Discovery Channel, 2021, 2022), Joy Ride (Lionsgate, 2023), Two Sentence Horror Stories Season 1 and 2 (Netflix, 2019, 2020) and many more.
